Description
Xerox Phaser 7300
The printer was printing fine but has decided that consumables are at end of life or you wish to use refills for the toner. How do I reset the counters for all the consumables so as to get more life from them.
Solution
Xerox color
You can reset the counters by following these steps:
From the Main Menu go to Support Menu then Service Tools Menu.
When you are in the Service Tools menu, press the up and down arrow keys simultaneously.
The display should show Hidden Service Menu at the top.
Select Run Diagnostics
Select NVRAM Access menu.
From there go to CRU Counter Resets.
Select Reset IU Counts.
Once in the resultant menu, select the item you wish to reset and press OK.
Keep pressing the previous menu key (the curved arrow key) until you get back to the main menu - once back at the main menu select Exit to restart the printer.
Additional
We should all be thinking about saving money and being greener. To get more life from conumable parts in printers means less waste in landfills. It does not seem right that the printer decides when items are end of life when they are still working fine. A reminder that parts should be replaced would be OK whilst leaving the final decision to the owner of the printer who will asses whether the print quality is still acceptable.
